The Story of One of a Hive Candles

Candles that only give off GOOD VIBES.

One of a Hive Candles is constantly growing, but we started off very small. It all started with our passion to make candles sustainably and naturally. I have always been obsessed with candles, especially the ones that actually smell good when you burn them! 
I quickly learned that most candles sold at department stores have loads of chemicals in them that are not safe to be burning. I found that beeswax was one of my favorite waxes to burn, not only because of the natural wax, but beeswax lasts longer than traditional paraffin wax. 
Beeswax neutralizes the air when burned, and it is biodegradable.
We do use fragrance oils in our candles, but they are all "clean scents" which means they are free of :
-Phthalates
-Carcinogens, these are materials known or thought to cause cancer.
-Mutagens, which are materials that change the DNA of a cell, harming the cell and causing diseases like cancer.
-Reproductive toxins: Toxins that adversely affect reproductive organs and increase the risk of birth defects.
-Organ toxins: Toxins that can cause adverse effects or disease within specific bodily organs
-Acute toxins: Toxins that can cause adverse effects from a single exposure. Generally, this would be accidental exposure like spillage or ingestion. 
I know it may seem crazy that some candles are even made with these type of harmful chemicals, I thought the same thing! I wanted to create a candle that still smells amazing, but without all of the nasty chemicals, and I am proud of the perfect blended candle that is popular among many!
